Documentary Film
Dr. Kokayi is the creator, executive producer and researcher of a documentary film on Traditional African Medicine. Filmed in 5 African countries, the documentary explores traditional healing practices such as shamanism, herbalism, and divination, as well as the practitioners and people who rely on them. The film highlights the shifting role of effective traditional healing practices within modernizing societies, and the relationship of traditional healing to the health care systems of African countries, both of which are in use. The film is currently being shown in film festivals around the world.
